THIS RACHEL IS ON A BREAK

Unlike Jennifer Aniston’s character, Rachel Green, on Friends who had a running storyline of adamantly denying that she and David Schwimmer’s character, Ross Geller, were ever on a break, real life engaged couple, Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen, are apparently really on one.

Bilson and Christensen announced their engagement in February 2009. In August of that year, Rachel was spotted not wearing her engagement ring in public. Her rep made a statement at the time that “The engagement is on; she just doesn’t always wear the ring.” (Okay ladies, if you say “yes” and the guy springs for a ring, wear it always. Every day. Period! Would Bilson not wear a wedding band daily when she’s married too? And you wonder why you’re on a break, Rachel!)

Well it was deju vu all over again when Bilson wasn’t wearing her engagement ring again very recently at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film, Take No Prisoners. But, this time, after Us Magazine reporters asked her how her wedding planning was going. Rachel held up her non-ringed hand and said “No, no plans.” To make things crystal clear, Bilson added “No nothing.”

Along with THQ, Rachel hosted a Take No Prisoners party at Los Angeles’ Standard Hotel on Wednesday, June 16. She attended the event alone. (A photo of her at the party is above. — Love the flowered top, hate the badly sewn skirt!)

It’s rumored that Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen have agreed to take a break for a month to decide if they still do want to get married. They are said to have started this relationship break about two weeks ago. Well, taking time to figure things out is certainly better than jumping into marriage and making a big deal about the wedding rather than considering the long commitment of the marriage! Good luck to them.

OZZIE OSBOURNE WANTED TO GET SCREAMS FROM FANS

I love Ozzie Osbourne, and he seems like the most caring, loving wonderful guy, but, let’s face it, he can look a bit scary with his long hair, little round dark glasses, Prince of Darkness outfits and stilted walk. Imagine going to New York’s Madame Tussaud’s wax museum and sitting beside the seated wax figure of Ozzie Osbourne only to have the shock of your life when the figure moves and speaks!

That really happened recently and it sent fans screaming which was just the reaction Ozzie and wife, Sharon, hoped for as they took pictures. Ozzie explained: “The title of my new album is “Scream” and we wanted to get footage of people screaming in front of me.” (OMG hopefully there was no need for museum janitors to mop the floor if you know what I mean.)

It seems to me that Ozzie and Sharon can get away with more than most people for some reason. Is it that underneath their pranks and potty mouths you can just tell they have really kind hearts? Or is it the British accents? Anyway, I just think they’re cool. I really liked the reality show they used to have, minus the pet menagerie of dogs always growling and fighting and doing their business on the carpets — Well, it was kind of funny I guess especially since they weren’t *my* carpets!

In an unrelated story from a few months ago, Ozzie reportedly gave the large, gold crucifix necklace he was wearing (part of his signature Prince of Darkness ensemble) to a homeless man. The necklace was worth about 3K and Ozzie apologized for having no change in his pockets to give the man so he unclasped his jewelry and handed it to him instead telling him to “pray on it.” The homeless man probably had to pawn it for money as well as do some praying, but it still was cool of Ozzie since it would have been easy just to use the excuse of having no cash!

SPEIDI AT THEIR APRIL 2009 WEDDING IN PASADENA

Heidi Montag has moved out of the home she shared with husband, Spencer Pratt. According to Montag’s spokesperson, a separation is certain, while a divorce isn’t yet. The pair, made famous on TV’s The Hills, stayed married for a year and a month – not exactly very long even by Hollywood standards. Heidi looked thrilled on her wedding day as she stood next to new husband, Expensive Brat oops Spencer Pratt, but maybe she was just thrilled about her dress and hair – who knows?

The reason Heidi’s spokesperson is giving for the separation is confusing at best. (At worst, it sounds ridiculous.) Apparently, Montag had to move out because of “all the bad press that Spencer controls.” WHAT? Does this make sense to anyone?

How does one control “bad press?” Is Heidi shifting the blame for the public’s perception of her as a plastic surgery nut rather than a serious actress or something? She’s been auditioning for roles such as Megan Fox’s fired/quit one in Transformers 3. I don’t see how director Michael Bay would seriously consider her for even one second!

Montag’s rep is telling press that Heidi “wants to focus on her career” which is a big part of why she wants to separate from Spencer. This just doesn’t make sense to me at all, but then Speidi never makes sense to me! (Did anyone else have the excruciating experience of watching them on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here? They were the only ones who wanted to quit every 5 seconds and did nothing but preach and complain. On the plus side, Janice Dickinson complained, but was hilarious!)

Speidi is known for their fights, but they both seem so preachy, vain and shallow you’d think they’d be a good match!

MICK JAGGER: (66¾ WITHOUT PLASTIC SURGERY IS THE NEW 50)

Okay, it’s official – I love rock god Mick Jagger!(Sir Mick Jagger actually!) Musically, there’s no one like him! He and the Rolling Stones are amazing and I could listen to them forever. Those slow songs like “Wild Horses” and “Angie” as well as the more upbeat tunes such as “Happy”can set my world right again after any kind of weird day (like when I realize again that they really did  stop making new Seinfeld eps eons ago…).

Sir Mick was on Larry King last night talking about the 40 year anniversary of Exile on Main Street (great new album mixes plus a gritty docu filmed in French basements). It was hilarious when Larry turned the talk away from Exile to ask Mick if being on drugs ever affected his performance on stage. Mick waited one beat and deadpanned “probably” which almost sent Larry into one of his laughing spasms that makes you think he’s short of air and going to have a heart attack!

I loved hearing Mick Jagger, in his upper crust, yet also unpretentious, British accent, go into the story behind Exile (for what must be the 1,516th time in his career – long story short UK wanted 90% of his income so the Stones moved to France in Exile to pay like 40% less tax) I’m struck how cool he is still at 66¾ to be almost exact (turns 67 on July 26). He’s rock and roll elegance old school with a modern cool edge in his thinking.

Unlike Heidi Montag, who at almost a third of Mick Jagger’s age, has had a gazillion plastic surgeries, Jagger swears off them. As his model daughter (like her famous model mom, Jerry Hall), 20 something Elizabeth told the British papers in 2006, Mick Jagger has vowed never to have plastic surgery. Elizabeth calls her Dad’s face “craggy” in a good way, and I agree. I also agree with her when she says most people who get plastic surgery have “…glazed expressions like they’re in a permanent state of shock.” (Hello Steven Tyler…)

ANISTON SO SMART TO DO ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST!

So, you’re a 40-something hot, yet refreshingly down to earth, movie and TV star. You’re Jennifer Aniston. (oh, you wish…) You don’t need to cling to a man to buy your Beverly Hills dream house for you or even with you. You work for it and buy it yourself – get it all fixed up just the way you want it. Then you let that fabulous, glossy Architectural Digest publication do a feature story on you and your new home. What in the hell is wrong with that?

Nothing. Unless you’re Brad Pitt.

Especially since he was the one to leave her for the amazingly beautiful, (yet NOT refreshingly down to earth), Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt seems way out of line in his reaction to his ex’s appearance on the AD cover. He’s saying that Jennifer Aniston was “never into architecture” when they were married; it was HIS hobby and she used to tease him about it. It’s bad enough that Pitt is being totally ridiculous and whiny, but he adds insult to injury by having the nerve to be “disgusted” with her “press ploy” to get his “attention.” (Oh someone clearly needs to let go his ego!)

MR. PERFECT AINT SO NO MORE…  (Feel free to write in about my grammar!)

After carefully creating such a classy public image, Mr. Pitt shot himself in the PR foot by badmouthing his ex. Yes, he was in Architectural Digest a few months ago, apparently architecture is a big hobby of his, SO WHAT – he neither owns the hobby nor the magazine! If Jennifer’s appearance in AD affected him so passionately that he’s risking his image by making worse than caveman-like remarks, he should ask himself why… Is he pissed to see Jennifer Aniston doing so damn well without him?… Too Bad. So Sad, Loser!

GET WELL SOON BRET MICHAELS!

Poison’s lead singer and popular Celebrity Apprentice star, Bret Michaels, is said to be awake, talking and in a positive mindset as he recovers in hospital after suffering a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which is bleeding at the base of the brain. Yet he’s also in danger of suffering seizures due to a sodium deficiency. Michaels was rushed to hospital last Thursday after experiencing severe ‘thunderclap headaches’ that he said felt like “getting hit with a baseball bat over and over.”

Doctors and friends alike call him “lucky” and “a fighter” since many people have died as a result of the type of hemorrhage Bret suffered. While in hospital, he just recently had what his representative said was a “minor setback.” According to the information posted on the official Bret Michaels website (which has received so much traffic, some of the pages had to be moved), the hemorrhage caused a condition called hyponatremia, which is basically a salt deficiency. Fans of all ages are wishing Bret all the best and hope he recovers soon!

DONALD TRUMP CALLS BRET’S HOSPITAL

For some reason, the hospital where Michaels is isn’t being disclosed, but Donald Trump apparently knows because he called to check on Bret’s condition. In typical Trump speak, Donald commented that Michaels is in “big, big trouble” and “the prognosis is not great.” Donald Trump and Donald Jr. appeared separately on Larry King to express how much they like him and hope he gets well.

So many people are rooting for Michaels to recover. The last Celebrity Apprentice, which aired a few days after Bret landed in hospital, attracted nearly 8 million viewers. The show hasn’t had those ratings numbers since its premiere. I love Celebrity Apprentice and I love Bret on it. –Wishing you well, Bret Michaels!

NIKKI SIXX & KAT VON D HOLDIN’ HANDS IN MALIBU

Tattoo artist/LA Ink reality star, Kat Von D (I love her cool name and her real name is even cooler: Katherine von Drachenberg) is apparently back with Motley Crue musician/songwriter, Nikki Sixx (The best male rocker name since Alice Cooper. His birthname is Frank Carlton Serafino Ferrana Jr.). The couple broke up in January after dating for nearly 2 years. The reason their relationship ended then remains a mystery. Nikki issued a statement at the time that included this:
“We are taking a break from our relationship for reasons that we will choose to keep personal. She has loved and inspired the hell outta me and I know I’ve done the same for her in the almost 2 years we ruled the earth together.” (Gotta love that last part!)

Whatever it was, it seems they worked things out and got back together after just a few months apart. In the last few weeks, they’ve been spotted together all over Malibu. Sixx (51) and Von D (27) have quite the age difference, but seem happy as a couple. They began seeing each other in 2007 after Kat’s marriage had ended.

Nikki appeared on LA Ink in 2008 while he and Kat were dating. Kat did a tattoo of Motley Crue guitarist, Mick Mars, (oh those rocker names again! His birthname is Robert Alan Deal) on Sixx’s leg.  Nikki Sixx, who co-founded Motley Crue with Tommy Lee, has known Mick Mars around 30 years.

Recently, Von D posted on Twitter: “I’m currently in a relationship with Nikki.” Sixx confirmed the news on his radio show, Sixx Sense. The only thing is, the posts were made after rumors had started that Von D was involved with the married skateboarder/daredevil,  Bam Margera.

Photos of Bam and Kat holding hands leaving a bar surfaced and then came the pics of Kat and Nikki doing the same thing leaving McDonald’s or somewhere (the above photo). But Kat calls the comments about the speculation of an affair with Bam “silly rumors.”

NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN SUING DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Launching a 20 million dollar lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator, Marc Cherry, Nicollette Sheridan, who played Edie Britt on the show, claims the set was a “hostile work environment.” Sheridan alleges Cherry hit her in the face after she was questioning a script and went above him to the ABC execs.

Sheridan says Cherry was “abusive and aggressive” to other Desperate Housewife actors including Teri Hatcher. According to a passage in Sheridan’s lawsuit, Cherry commented to her, after Hatcher also went above him to the ABC execs: “I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.” (If that’s true, I hope it was before Gale Harold (super gorgeous sweetie deluxe), who played Hatcher’s love interest, Jackson, had a motorcycle accident and almost died!)

THREE PARTS IN SHERIDAN’S LAWSUIT AGAINST CHERRY

Wrongful dismissal, assault and gender violence form the basis of Sheridan’s 20 million dollar lawsuit. Sheridan says the amount is appropriate as she’s “losing millions in future earnings” by not being on Desperate Housewives. The 46 year old Sheridan was fired by Cherry last year. Sheridan claims she was fired after she complained to ABC execs about the script.

EVA LONGORIA PARKER SHOCKED ABOUT SHERIDAN’S ALLEGATIONS

Nicollette Sheridan’s Desperate Housewives co-star, Eva Longoria Parker, is making statements that she’s shocked about the 20 million dollar lawsuit and claims against Marc Cherry.  Eva calls Cherry “funny and sweet” and insists that Sheridan wasn’t even on the set in September of 2008 when the alleged hit in the face was supposed to have occurred.

However, Nikki Finke, a columnist for Deadline Hollywood has a different story. She mainly defends Cherry, but says the incident Sheridan describes did happen. Finke explains that Cherry slapped Sheridan across the face to show her how to react when her character’s husband did the same thing. WTF!!?? What happened to the classic Hollywood fake hit, smack sound effect and quick face turn away?

Last night’s episode was seriously promoting the iPad. This clip puts together a montage of the family trying to fulfill Phil’s birthday wish of owning the hot new gadget. The product placement didn’t really bother me because I could totally see Phil wanting one of these beastly iTouch’s. Plus he blows out his own birthday candles on the pad’s screen! Modern Family is one of the greatest tv shows these days, so to me they can do no wrong.
