MADONNA IN A NEW AD FOR MDG SUNGLASSES

It was announced in February that Material Girl, Madonna, would be designing a line of sunglasses to be released in May by popular lux fashion house, Dolce&Gabbana. Well, they made it by the end of May and several ads are out similar to the one I included above. Is it just me or is something lacking? I don’t know what it is, but the ad just doesn’t seem creative enough for some reason. (After seeing his creative ad ideas on The Celebrity Apprentice, I’d love to see what Bret Michaels would do with this one!)

The whole look, including the diamond crucifix, screams Madonna as well as Dolce&Gabbana with all the black. So what isn’t working – or again, is it just me? I’ve always thought Madonna was cool, but has she lost her cutting edge? Has she kept too much in a rut? It’s obvious that stars such as Gwen Stefani and Lady Gaga were influenced by not just Madonna’s sound, but her look too.

Are the red lips, blonde waved hair, fishnets and black sexy dresses becoming too common and blase? Don’t get me wrong, Madonna looks great for her age and she’s a great talent. She’s a great choice for the Dolce&Gabbana brand. I’m just not sure the ad will convince the target market to buy the glasses. Hopefully I’m wrong. Dolce&Gabbana  (Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana respectively)  must think the Material Girl is right for their brand. The glasses are MDG – Madonna, Dolce&Gabbana with her name first after all.

By the way, I really do think Madonna is cool. If you must know, I actually watched her 80s movie, Desperately Seeking Susan yesterday. (ahh! Confessions…confessions!) It was painful to watch the 80s style flashback, but at least she was cutting edge then. I’d love to see her start a new trend again! She’s a creative and brilliant woman.

LADY GAGA EATS BABY FOOD, HATES HER BODY?

Although her rep is denying everything, the rumors are rampant that Lady Gaga lives basically on baby food to stay slim. She also apparently has the same disease as Heidi Montag as Gaga’s said to be contemplating thousands of dollars of plastic surgery on everywhere from her face to her boobs to her thighs. The “source” (oh these people never give their names, what cowards!) tattling on Gaga in Heat magazine swears that Lady Gaga spends hours looking in the mirror lamenting over her looks.

Well, ya know, all Stefani Germanotta (Gaga’s real name) needs is a makeover (including some real hair, a hairbrush and real clothes rather than half of Batwoman’s costume!). A case of makeup remover to ditch the raccoon eyes is a good start in the cosmetics department, but really…

IF YOU DON’T LIKE YOUR THIGHS, WEAR SOME PANTS!

For someone reported to have issues with her thighs, Lady Gaga seems obsessed with wearing totally inappropriate, underwear-like garments in pubic oops public places. The crazy thongs oops things she wears reveal more than most people’s bathing suits!

Seriously, TLC’s Stacy London and Clinton Kelly need to school her on What Not To Wear. Can you imagine that episode? Come on, Gaga, forget the plastic (if it’s leather she’s wearing it looks like plastic) and the plastic surgery and just get some real clothes!

“IT’S ALL ABOUT STARVATION. POP STARS DON’T EAT.”

Lady Gaga said those words last May. Now she’s accused of living on baby food. The infamous Heat source (heat source ha) states that Gaga’s so weak from not eating properly and dancing so much that she’s been “blacking out” as well as “collapsing on stage.” Well ya, just get paid to blab to a magazine about it rather than calling 911 and getting the Lady some help (including counseling)…

GLAM GIRL GAGA GETS THE LAST LAUGH OVER EX

Imagine having an ex tell you you’ll never reach your dreams, never amount to anything? The nerve! I’d want to pull an “alleged” Charlie Sheen and get out the kitchen knives and/or shotgun and issue death threats!

Ah, but Gaga says in the soon to be released April issue of Cosmopolitan magazine that she told her ex boyfriend in no uncertain terms: “You won’t be able to order a coffee at the f***ing deli without hearing or seeing me.”

Good one, Gaga! Especially since it’s obviously oh so true! I wonder where this guy is and what he does for a living now? If poetic justice is any indication, he should be a newsstand worker, ah yes right outside a deli, who has to unpack and sell a gazillion (Gagazillion!) magazines with her on the covers!

By the way, Gaga’s gone very old school Hollywood these days with long, waved blond hair, blood red lips and elegant black gowns. ‘Cept on the new Cosmo cover, she’s wearing just a bra and boy shorts undies that both pretty much match her skin tone (except for the white waistband). Whatev…

GAGA TELLS COSMO SHE’S “DELUSIONALLY AMBITIOUS”

Lady Gaga said her ex “hoped I’d fail” and that she’d “never have a hit song” as well as “never be nominated for a Grammy.” This jealous loser must not think much of Karma!

Anyway, Gaga’s ambition and determination helped her keep going through all that loser’s remarks as well as music biz people telling she was “too pop” or “too theatrical.” Let’s not forget she’s only 23 (24 at the end of March) and reigns on the music charts! Yeah Gaga has the last laugh/giggle fit/ ha ha/guffaw (whatever she wants) all right!
